The foundation

A Kenyan foundation for the people development leaves behind.

We build capacity and dignity for children, youth and women through advocacy, mentoring, partnership and grassroots programmes — especially in the communities hardest to reach.

Our story

Born from a promise the 2010 Constitution made.

When Kenya adopted a devolved system of government in 2010, it gained one of the most progressive constitutions on the continent — one that guarantees equal participation and equal enjoyment of rights and opportunity for every citizen.

Yet children, youth and women have continued to lag behind across social, political and economic indicators. We were founded to help close that gap, structurally and sustainably.

Of Kenya's 47.5 million people counted in the 2019 census, women make up 50.2% and youth nearly 67%. If their potential is left untapped, whole communities are excluded from development.

Our response is deliberately multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral: we advocate, mentor, broker partnerships and build capacity — so that opportunity reaches the people too often left out of it.

Our purpose

To eliminate the cycle of poverty and ignorance for less-privileged children, youth and women — enhancing quality of life through structured advocacy and empowerment programmes that raise human dignity, sustainably.

Our approach

Capacity-building and advocacy through lobbying, partnership, mediation, mentoring and networking — creating fruitful, connected societies, in line with Kenya Vision 2030, the EAC 2050 agenda, Africa Agenda 2063 and the SDGs.
